Hockey Tasmania is calling for team entries for the Veterans' Memorial Cup, an annual event held for veteran women. This year the event will be held at St Leonards Hockey Complex, Launceston on 1-2 March.

TASMANIAN Eddie Ockenden continues to impress with the Kookaburras during the five-nations tournament in South Africa.

The Kookaburras will have to wait three days before officially claiming what looks to be their first victory of the 5 Nation Tournament in South Africa.

In a strange set of circumstances their match against the Netherlands was washed out with 26 minutes of play remaining overnight, leaving the result in limbo.

Due to power load shedding across South Africa, the playing times for the Kookaburras at the 5 Nation Tournament have been altered as follows:

Following selection trials, the following players were named in the U18 Women’s State Team to compete in the Australian Championship in Melbourne from 25 March – 5 April 2008. Larry Mills has been appointed Coach, Tracey Cameron is Assistant Coach and Suzie Calvert is Manager.

Expressions of interest are invited from suitably qualified applicants to fill a temporary coaching appointment with Hockey Tasmania. Interested persons should submit a Resume and provide details of no more than two pages which address the selection criteria.

Since the launch of the new HockeyEd programs in April, Hockey Australia has received very positive feedback and overseen encouraging increases in accredited coaches and umpires. Over 750 new coaches / umpires are in the process of completing their Community or Beginner accreditation and 300 have already become accredited.
