For almost a century, Australians from all walks of life have been involved in hockey, dedicating themselves to all aspects of the game, from the highest echelons right down to the grass roots.

McKenna Park in Burnie was the centre of a number of hockey activities last weekend.

Hockey Tasmania has announced the following key full-time appointments to support its Development Programme for 2005. Jeremy Stebbings has been appointed to the position of Hockey Tasmania Development Officer (North / North West) and Ilene Carr is Hockey Tasmania Development Officer (South).

To gain valuable match practice for the upcoming AHL season, both the MIA Tassie Tigers and the Wrest Point Van Demons will feature in the MIA Cup on Saturday February 12^th at the THC, and will play matches against the HT President’s XI on Sunday 13th.  An entertaining program of events is being organised, and it is expected that the event will attract even more interest than last year.

The Draw for the 2005 Australian Hockey League commencing on February 25^th has been released.

The AHL season is fast approaching, and the AHL Committee is seeking support from the community to assist in raising the necessary funds to support the MIA Tassie Tigers and the Wrest Point Van Demons.

The [Central Victorian Hockey] Association seeks to engage a full-time Regional Development Officer to further develop and promote the sport of hockey throughout Central Victoria.
