Congratulations to Geoffrey Cock and Patrick Ward on their inclusion in the Australian National Junior Squad. The squad will play five matches against the Korean U21 team in Canberra next month.

Victoria v Northern Territory
Victoria have claimed their 13th Australian Men’s U21 Championship after defeating NT 4-2 in an exciting final.

Victoria have secured a place in tomorrow’s final following after fighting off a gallant performance from Tasmania to win 5-2.

At the Australian U21 Men’s Championship in Canberra, the TAS U21 Men finished strongly to claim 4^th place on the ladder at the completion of the Round matches.

TAS U21 Men, playing in Canberra, defeated QLD 1 – 0 and is currently in 5^th place.  The lone goal was scored by Captain Eddie Ockenden.  TAS (5^th) take on NSW (1^st) on Tuesday, and with 3^rd placed NT expected to defeat SA (8^th), and VIC (2^nd) taking on ACT (4^th), final four positions could change after Tuesday’s matches.

Tasmania's U21 Women defeated ACT  4 – 1.  Goals to Maggie Given, Sarah McCambridge, Abby Douglas, Ashley Robertson.  The team remains in 7^th place.

NSW v QLD
NSW escaped with a come from behind draw against less favoured opponents QLD in the opening match of the day.

Tasmania v Northern Territory
In the opening match of the day Tasmania and NT played out a 2-all draw.
Tasmania opened the match strongly with the majority of possession in the opening minutes, however strong defence from NT prevented scoring opportunities.

Tasmania suffered a 5-0 loss to Victoria on the first day of the National Under 21 Men's Championships in Canberra yesterday.  Best players for Tasmania included Adam Jago, Ian McHugh and Eddie Ockenden.  QLD defeated TAS  4 – 1 in the U21 Women’s Championship being played in Brisbane.  Lucy Ockenden scored the lone TAS goal.

Day one of the Women's U21 Championships resulted in strong wins to SA, NSW, QLD and Victoria.

Day 1 of the Under 21 Men’s National Championships got under way today at the National Hockey Centre at Lyneham with two title contenders suffering shock losses.In the first game of the day 2006 AHL leading goal scorer Chris Cirello picked up where he left off, scoring from three of only four penalty corners, to help Victoria to a convincing 5-0 victory over Tasmania.
