There have been any number of athletes overawed by the Beijing Olympics … and some have simply revelled in it.
Into the second category falls one girl we’ve already noticed, Stephanie Rice, and another young man who has received a fraction of her publicity – Eddie Ockenden.
Ockenden is a 21-year-old, Hobart-raised hockey player not used to smog, pollution or the big crowds but he has experienced all three in Beijing – and carried himself like a man at his fourth Olympics, never mind his first.
As both men's and women's Australian hockey teams look to win gold at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, fans will be able to watch the action as it happens on the 7 Network and SBS at the following times.
