The annual Hockey Tasmania Dinner held last Saturday night in Wrest Point’s Derwent Room was attended by 120 guests, including members of the Wrest Point Van Demons, the MIA Tassie Tigers and their major sponsors and supporters.Also in attendance were family members of Hockey Tasmania’s Executive Officer, Gai Cross, who was presented with Life Membership of Hockey Tasmania for her outstanding contribution to the administration of Hockey in Tasmania over the past twenty years.

"It would be an injustice if we did not recognise the outstanding achievement by the MIA Tassie Tigers in making last week's Australian Hockey League men's final".

The MIA Tassie Tigers have lost their AHL Final to the Queensland Blades , 0-1, but have given a most honourable performance against a team which included 7 Olympians. Congratulations to Queensland Blades on winning the 2006 Final, their fourth, and third in four years, AHL Championship.
